What's in Season?

Sheep in Spring A true grass fed herd lives entirely on a forage based diet for twelve months of the year, meaning that to prosper, our animal husbandry must mimic the year of their natural wild cousins.

Animals giving birth in late Spring/early Summer are allowed to build up body reserves after the period of Winter rations, give birth on lush, clean grass and have plenty to supply the nutiritional needs of their young.

Providing our animals with a natural diet they can grow at their own pace giving us a range of sizes that can be finished when they are at their best, not forced to grow to a target weight/date.

And by carefully managing our grazing and working together we aim to offer you a quality product all year round.
